We’ve been asked how long we’re going to be down-and-out. Truth is, probably for good. We had to step back and take a look at what we’d done and where we were heading and it wasn’t looking viable. We were selling a good amount of ceramics, but the more we sold the more time we spent making the same-ish things and Dovetail started becoming something other than what it was supposed to be. We didn’t have the time to dedicated to new things and it became a cycle.
We’re still in the studio working and we’ll be back in some shape or form, but we’ll most likely avoid wholesale and we’ll probably do small editions and one-offs. The name Dovetail, which represents Margaret and me combining interests, won’t die cause we’ll always combine interests, but as a business identity–its probably done-for. When we emerge from the darkness, we’ll be sure to let anyone that cares (or once cared even a little) know whats going on. We really appreciate all the encouragement and interest. Thanks a lot. See you soon!

My husband and I are sorry to see you are down and out. We live in Baltimore and bought one of your bowls with the tree design a few years ago at the American Crafts Council convention. We enjoyed meeting you that day. Last Sunday we went to the convention and looked for your booth but couldn’t find you anywhere. We were hoping to say hello and tell you we still enjoy our bowl. Good luck and best wishes to you!

We care too! My partner and I had started a collection which is far from complete – is there any way of purchasing the items we need to complete it?
We absolutely love your products and are very sorry to hear that you will not be continuing, but we wish you the very best in your next venture!
Good luck and thank you for the outstanding service.
